Pit Bulls and Neighbors

Like any group of people who have like interest owners of Pit Bull Terriers who connect with other dog owners find they have a lot in common. There is the discrimination factor. If you are an owner you know exactly what I'm talking about. Neighbors can be downright panicky or paranoid with the thought of having Pit Bulls in their neighborhood. Paranoid or not that doesn't negate the responsibility of dog owners of any breed. If you want to be neighborly extra caution should be taken to insure outside pets are secure in a fenced in area and that gates are functioning and properly locked.
When walking a Pit Bull (or I emphasize dogs of any breed) should be on leash. Convenient or not that is what makes the neighbors feel safer and ultimately neighborly.
